Diagnosis and Prevention

We recommend dental check-ups and cleans every 6 months. This ensures good oral health is maintained and helps detect any signs of tooth decay and gum problems. Even oral cancer may be identified and successfully treated with early intervention. Dental problems such as tooth decay and gum disease are preventable.
Oral hygiene and diet plays the most important role in preventing dental problems. We recommend brushing and flossing twice a day. This is highly effective and should form part of your regular oral hygiene routine. It is also advisable to avoid excess sugar and acid intake (e.g. sports drinks, soft drinks, chocolate etc.).
Dental exams, scale, fluoride, digital x-rays, custom mouth guards and occlusal splints are just some of the ways we can provide diagnostic and preventative care in our surgery.

Restoration

Restorative dentistry involves repairing or restoring teeth damaged by cavities and trauma. We provide tooth-coloured fillings, inlays, onlays, crowns, bridges and implants as part of our restorative treatments.

Cosmetic

Cosmetic dentistry can improve the appearance (shape, size, and colour) of your teeth. If you are unhappy with your teeth, it may also help improve your overall smile and increase your self-esteem so you can always feel your best. We provide smile makeovers which include procedures such as composite and porcelain veneers, crowns, teeth-whitening and dental implants if needed.

Root Canal Treatments (Endodontics)

Root canal treatments may be required for treating the diseased tooth nerve (dental pulp). A damaged or infected nerve in a tooth can lead to severe pain and may cause an abscess. In these cases, the infected nerve has to be removed from the tooth, the nerve canal has to be cleaned and filled with root canal filling. We provide root canal treatments for anterior and posterior teeth.

Paediatrics

It is important to us that your children feel comfortable at the dentist. We recommend bringing them with you to us as young as possible to help build their trust and confidence. Many infants have their first dental visit with us on their parent’s lap. These early childhood visits are the best way to ensure they have excellent oral health in the future. For children, we can provide dental exams, cleans, fluoride, x-rays, fissure sealants, custom mouth guards, pulpotomies and stainless-steel crowns.

Prosthetics

Prosthetic treatment involves replacing lost teeth. We construct partial (acrylic and metal) and full dentures, immediate dentures, relines and repairs. We also provide implant-retained dentures.

Extractions and Oral Surgery

Teeth may sometimes need to be removed due to a number of reasons such as decay, gum disease, for orthodontic treatment or when impacted (wisdom teeth). Our dentists have considerable experience with dental extractions and minor oral surgery procedures. We do a number of wisdom tooth removals and surgical extractions, however in complex cases we may refer you to a specialist oral surgeon.

Sports dentistry for adults & children

Participating in contact sports without a mouth guard can have serious consequences.
Wearing mouth guards not only protects the teeth from injury, it can lesson the impact of a blow to the jaws and reduce the potential for more serious injuries such as concussion and facial fractures.
